From nature we learn the need to change, to renew our desires and thoughts. From it we learn the meaning of waiting, the gift of patience and the pleasure of kindness.
Whoever passes through these hills sees a landscape shaped by the vineyards. But whoever was born and has grown up in these hills, has learned to distinguish their lights, shadows and perfumes and the vocation of every single stretch of land: whoever really knows this area sees a promise that has to be kept.
The circle of hills that stretches from the Alpine foothills to the two opposite banks of Lake Iseo and Monte Orfano was shaped by a gigantic ice floe. A store of light, water and energy that creates a unique representation of the wine-growing culture that has found here the ideal location to express itself.
We maintain that grapes only require one thing: respect. Picking each bunch by hand; keeping the grapes of one vineyard separate from the others; pressing gently; preparing hundreds of small white oak pièces for the fermentation; listening to the must becoming wine, creating the cuvee and then waiting another four, five or six years for it to mature; entrusting the final touch of remuage to capable hands.
All this, we know, calls for patience and an almost infinite amount of time. The relationship between wine and man is born of patience. Time is our friend and we respect it. It has taught us the value of experience and of tradition, the greatness of every tiny gesture and the importance of knowing when is the right moment to stop and just wait
